EHLfamily: 2005, Big changes for AEHL

EHL Alumni | 3 Oct, 2016

In 2005, after months if not years of meetings and negotiations, the decision was set: the Alumni Association of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne would be dissolved and the management and caretaking of our dear alumni would be now officially a responsibility of EHL itself.

One must say AEHL was one of the first alumni association in its field to have the chance to be 100% integrated to a university, in Europe.

In 2004, a mandate agreement was signed by Mr Daubenmeier, President of the Association, Mr. Salvisberg, Director of the Association, Mr. Torriani, President of the Board of Governors of EHL and Mr. Reuland, Director of EHL.

The agreement was about the close collaboration between the EHL association and Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and had as objective to put in place an Alumni Center at the school, who would ensure professional services for our alumni.

An amendment to this contract was made in March 2005, which specified the dissolution of the association. The decision was accepted by 97.9% of the votes during the following and last General Assembly on May 28th.

Mr. Bertrand Willi was appointed first Alumni Director of the school’s Alumni Center.

Today, more than 10 years later, the EHL Alumni Department is composed of four passionate alumni, supporting our graduates on five continents.
