To celebrate EHL’s centenary, many events were organized throughout the year.
More than a hundred press articles were published and three television documentaries were shown on Swiss TV channels and TV Europe. Over 4700 visitors came to EHL for conferences, exhibitions and other special events.
Among other activities, the Office des Vins Vaudois provided EHL students and those of two other schools with an unusual challenge: create a new product based on Chasselas grapes dedicated to young people that would be served in hotels and restaurants.
About 1300 visitors came to EHL for an open day on May 15, where besides visiting the infrastructures they could participate in activities such as a peeling potatoes competition.
On October 15, the foundation date of EHL, the executive committee invited professors, staff and students for a cocktail reception to commemorate this special date.
Today EHL is getting ready for its next big anniversary. In 2018, EHL will celebrate 125 years of Excellence in Hospitality Education and many extraordinary events will be organized for this occasion.
