For the 6th edition of EHL Success Stories, we welcomed 8 of our Alumni to share their success. The topic this year was sustainability.

Who is Federico Soldati?

Federico Soldati (AEHL 2013) is the Founder & Manager of PZ Pizza.

After his graduation, and the birth of his first child (during his SBP!), Federico completed the renovation of the family restaurant in Lugano.

He created PZ Pizza in 2015, and almost sold it the year after. He recently signed for another PZ Pizza in Morges (to open in 2021).

Can you describe yourself when you started EHL in one word versus now?

When I started EHL I would say I was Naïve humble, now I’m Smart humble.

What are the best moments you keep from your studies at EHL?

Group projects, it created a great bound still alive today between group members.

Looking at where you stand today, how do you think EHL made a difference in your life?

EHL opened my mind in a much broader understanding of people, but especially how to manage them with a correlation of empathy and business driven values.

What were the most rewarding experiences during your studies at EHL?

The SBP project was for sure the most rewarding experience. What made this project memorable was to finally putting together all the different subjects we studied the years before, in a single real-life challenging project.

Tell us something that you learned at EHL and that you are using every day.

People skills, SOP`S and customer service are the three areas of my job that I use every day. Sometimes I still use old EHL business plans when I have to create a new one, just to be sure that it stays in line with EHL standards!

How do you see your career evolving?

As an entrepreneur in the restaurant business it’s unknown how to things will evolve. What I can say is that for the moment things goes well and next year we have two new openings… to be continued.

What would you advice to young people that are not sure about their career aspirations?

If you don’t know what to do yet, try the most challenging job out there. Best case scenario you will find your way after some time, worst case scenario you will find anything better and easier right after. In any case, we always have some feelings of what we would like to do or achieve, if you chose EHL you must have something in mind.
