EHLFamily: 2001, New Master Program

EHL Alumni | 2 Sep, 2016

2001 was an important year for EHL and its Alumni Network.

For the first time, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne offered a program of advanced studies: the Master in Hospitality Business which was launched with 20 students.

Some of our first Master graduates hold today quite impressive positions. CEO of Kempinksi Hotels, Managing Director at Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, or Vice President - International Lodging Development at Marriott International, Inc., just to name a few.

Over the past 15 years, the program has changed and been improved many times. Initially called MHA, then MBA, the current version is now a full time, 11 months, Executive MBA in Hospitality Administration.

The same year, the EHL Alumni Association turned 75 and launched its first website! Alumni were now able to update their professional information online and find their peers in an address book – this propelled Networking to a whole new level!

A full time Director, Mr. Mike Shariff (EHL 1973), was hired and paid by the Alumni association that was renamed AEHL (Alumni Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne) and not AEEH (Anciens Elèves Ecole Hôtelière) anymore.
